Performing it

A two-hander that rests on the gap between them: McQueen is fast, panicked and self-important, and Mate is completely unhurried and delighted to have company. The name joke needs a small pause before the punchline lands. Mate's laugh should be genuine rather than performed, and he should never once notice that McQueen is in distress. The sheriff's two lines are authority arriving from off-screen, so keep them flat and official.
