The scene

Nine parts, fifty-five lines, and a Pizza Planet truck driven by five toys who can't reach the pedals. Buzz splits the jobs — Slinky on the pedals, Rex navigating, Hamm and Potato Head on the levers — and the plan immediately falls apart at a red light. The Aliens have twenty-five lines of pure chorus, Buzz and Rex nine each, and the rest are scattered among Hamm, Slinky, Potato Head, Zurg and a small girl.

Two minutes of traffic. Rex's directions are the disaster at the centre of it — left, no right, that's right, no I mean left — and every time the truck moves the Aliens react in triplicate. Utility-Belt Buzz peels off early to play catch with Zurg, Hamm has an opinion about mileage, and it finishes with Slinky barking at a passing girl who takes it exactly as well as you'd expect.

Performing it

This one is built for a full room, and the Aliens are the best seat in it. Twenty-five lines, all in threes, and they only work if whoever has them commits to saying the same thing three times with total sincerity — 'you have saved our lives, we are eternally grateful' gets funnier the more evenly you deliver it. Rex is the other prize: his navigation lines want genuine panic, not comedy panic, and the left-right tangle should sound like someone actually losing an argument with themselves. Buzz is the straight man holding the whole thing together, so keep him crisp and captain-like even as it collapses.
