Take over every line of Team Rocket's Intro and see how close you can get.

The scene

The motto. Eleven lines in twenty-two seconds, alternating strictly between Jessie and James five times each, with Meowth arriving for the last three words.

Every line is famous and the order never varies: prepare for trouble, make it double, protect the world from devastation, unite all peoples within our nation, denounce the evils of truth and love, extend our reach to the stars above. Then the names, the blast-off line, the surrender-or-fight line, and Meow, that's right!

Performing it

The shortest pack in this batch and the one most people can already recite, so the bar is rhythm rather than recall. The alternation has to be tight — Jessie and James finish each other's couplets, and any hesitation between them kills it. Push the pace; the motto is meant to be rattled off with theatrical relish, not declaimed. Both parts should be enjoying themselves enormously. Meowth's single line is the button and works best with a proper cat-rasp. Twenty-two seconds makes this the ideal opener for a room, or a quick three-player warm-up before something longer.

The dialogue is muted and everything else stays — the score, the room, the picture. You record each line over the silence and the scene plays back with you in the cast. How a dub is made · what the score measures.
