The scene
Six lines, fourteen seconds, and one of the shortest scenes in the library. Speed asks Ben — the talking dog from a phone app — whether he loves God. Ben laughs. Speed asks again, then a third time at full volume.
Ben says no. Speed's response is the last line, and it is a question about his own immediate future rather than anything theological: am I gonna die next week?

Performing it
The whole thing lives on the escalation across three identical questions, so the first should be casual, the second more insistent, and the third genuinely loud. Ben's two lines are a laugh and a flat "no", and the "no" must be completely affectless — no menace, no comedy, just an app answering. The final line should sound like a real question, quieter than everything before it. At fourteen seconds this is the fastest scene to try, and the easiest to redo until the timing is right.
The dialogue is muted and everything else stays — the score, the room, the picture. You record each line over the silence and the scene plays back with you in the cast. How a dub is made · what the score measures.
