The famous run is Kronk clarifying which poison they mean: the poison for Kuzco, the poison chosen especially to kill Kuzco, Kuzco's poison — that poison? Yzma has eight lines to Kronk's six and spends most of them trying to get the conversation back on track. She lays out the plan, he agrees Kuzco will be dead before dessert, and then adds that it is a real shame because dessert is going to be delicious. Kuzco gets one line, from somewhere else entirely.

Performing it

The shortest scene in this batch and one of the most satisfying to get right, because it is entirely about rhythm. Kronk's poison clarification is a single breath if you can manage it — the comedy is in how long he keeps going, so do not pause for laughs. Play him completely sincere; he is not being funny, he is being thorough. Yzma is dry, impatient and never amused, and her Yes! That poison needs to sound like a woman at the end of her rope. Kuzco's one line is a non sequitur and should be delivered like a man in a different film. A perfect quick two-hander.
