Bleach — Ichigo vs Byakuya
The scene
The moment in Bleach where Ichigo, beaten and gasping, stops apologising for himself and tells Byakuya Kuchiki exactly what is about to happen. Ichigo carries twelve of the nineteen lines and most of them are delivered through struggling breaths — the cue sheet is thick with breath markers before he ever gets to a full sentence. Byakuya has five lines and every one is cold: a rebuke about Ichigo's mouth, a single questioning noise, a demand to repeat himself, and two reactions written as nonchalant. Orihime and Uryu get one line each, watching from a distance and confirming that nobody else fights like that.
The exchange is a slow burn to a single word. Ichigo spends the first stretch half-conceding that a shikai cannot beat a bankai, then flips it: he has one too, and Byakuya will believe it when he sees it. The names carry weight here — Byakuya Kuchiki said in full, twice, as a taunt; Tensa Zangetsu as the last thing spoken. Between them sits a scream cue that the sheet simply tells you to give everything to, and a concentration sound while the picture does its thing. It is a scene built on breathing, contempt and one enormous shout.

Performing it
Ichigo's early lines want real exhaustion — audible breaths, broken words — because that is what sells the turn when he steadies. The long line where he refuses to repeat himself is the one people rush; it is written with a breath in the middle, so take it. The scream cue is the physical peak: stand up if you have to. The two-syllable release that follows should be quieter than you expect. Byakuya is an ideal second player in a Dub Roulette room — few lines, all flat and superior — though the nonchalant shock and the tsk are harder to land than the sentences. Orihime and Uryu are throwaway voices for whoever draws them.
The dialogue is muted and everything else stays — the score, the room, the picture. You record each line over the silence and the scene plays back with you in the cast. How a dub is made · what the score measures.
