The scene
The opening cutscene of a CD-i game that nobody asked for, and one of the most quoted pieces of dialogue on the internet. Ten lines in forty-five seconds with three parts — Mario seven, Luigi two, and one evil laugh from Bowser.
Mario observes that it was nice of the princess to invite them over for a picnic. Luigi hopes she made lots of spaghetti. Then the letter: the Koopalings and Bowser have taken over the Mushroom Kingdom, the princess is a permanent guest at one of seven Koopa hotels, and the player is dared to find her. It closes with the line that gives the scene its whole reputation — a suggestion that if you need instructions on how to get through the hotels, you check out the enclosed instruction book.

Performing it
Forty-five seconds and three parts makes this the fastest scene in the library to record, and the easiest to get right, because the original delivery is famously flat. Do not act it. The joke is that a plumber reads a hostage note with the enthusiasm of someone reading a gas bill, so stay level and slightly bored throughout, and let the words do it. Luigi's spaghetti line is one of two and should be the single most enthusiastic thing in the scene. Bowser's part is a laugh — genuinely a whole part, genuinely three seconds long, and perfect for someone who wants in without a script.
