The scene
Rob finally says the thing out loud. Eight lines in twenty-one seconds — six from Rob, two from Gumball, who is mostly trying to slow it down.
It is a single sustained escalation with no setup: what is wrong with you, you ruined the whole thing for me again, you have got to be the most insufferable, annoying, selfish person I have ever met. Gumball says Come on…
Rob says he thinks he really, really, really — Gumball says Say it
— and Rob does, for about five seconds without breathing.

Performing it
Twenty-one seconds, so you can run it ten times in the time most scenes take once, which is exactly how you should use it. This is a shouting pack and the last line is a sustained scream, so warm up before you commit a take and do not blow the voice on line one — the ramp has to keep climbing through six lines. Gumball's two lines are the opposite register entirely, quiet and almost bored, and Say it
should sound like a dare rather than a plea. The best possible scene in the library for a quick argument between two people.
The dialogue is muted and everything else stays — the score, the room, the picture. You record each line over the silence and the scene plays back with you in the cast. How a dub is made · what the score measures.
