The scene
Ten lines, sixty seconds, one voice. The Joker explains his scars, and whether or not any of it is true is beside the point — it is the only sustained monologue in the library and one of the most imitated pieces of screen acting of the century.
The story is domestic and horrible: a drinking father, a mother with a kitchen knife, and a child watching. The phrase Why so serious?
lands three times, each time closer, and the last line is just those three words on their own. Two of the ten lines are a single word. The pack keeps the pauses, which is most of what makes it work.

Performing it
A solo piece with nowhere to hide — no scene partner, no reaction shots, just you and a minute of screen time. The common mistake is playing it manic from the start; it is much closer to a man telling a story he finds mildly amusing, and the menace comes from how relaxed he is. Use the ellipses. The three Why so serious?
repeats should not be identical — the first is quoted, the second is closer, the third is aimed at you. Lip and tongue noises are part of the performance here, and the pack gives you room for them. Ideal for practising a single sustained character rather than a conversation.
